About Our School

Spencer Nursery School is federated with Hackbridge Primary School.

Spencer Nursery School was originally built in 1946 and has provided education on the same site ever since. In 2004 the site was extended and refurbished to enable us to extend our provision to provide childcare and education for children under 3 years of age.

We are a local authority maintained nursery school with additional private childcare provision for children under five, open for 51 weeks of the year. We are committed to delivering high-quality affordable childcare and education.

Spencer Nursery School is registered from birth and provides places for children from 3 months to 4 years.   We provide the following places:

  • 12 full day places per day for 0-2 year olds (over 51 weeks a year); all places are 8am-6pm
  • 12 full day places per day for 2-3 year olds (over 51 weeks a year); all places are 8am-6pm
  • 24 full day places per day for 3 and 4 year olds (over 51 weeks a year); 8 of these are 8am-4pm places and 16 of these are 8am-6pm places

The school’s main aim is to work in partnership with parents/carers to secure the intellectual, social, emotional and physical development of their child(ren) so that each one transfers to primary school as a confident, competent learner.
